OMG, nine hours is a long time!

I was told that it was going to be a long flight from Chicago to Honolulu - actually 9 hours long. Oh, how much I can accomplish in 9 hours at my desk at work. It was a nice flight though. We upgraded to Economy Plus and the extra 5" was worth it.  We did have a little turbulence on 3 occasions (felt like an old buggy bouncing down a pothole filled road) but it only added to the distractions on the 4300 mile flight.

The lady next to me introduced me to Garrot's Carmel corn. Amazing!! I'll have to remember that one. A treat apparently found in her town of Chicago.

My kindle app has been used quite a bit lately reading multiple travel books about Kauai. They were enlightening but enough time spent on research; it is time to see the island with my own eyes. It was nice to get back into fiction. A few months ago I started re-reading the entire Michael Connelly series of books. I'm up to The Reversal. I love having the time to read but I'm ready for the fresh island air.
