Hey there are fish down there!

What a morning!

We rented snorkel gear last week but have been too busy to use it. We gathered our gear and headed down to Lydgate Park. This is a beautiful park with lovely beaches and a lava rock enclosed swimming/snorkel pool. Great place for beginner snorkeling. We were surprised to see very few people there, especially for a weekend. But this has been the case with all beaches. October is a slow month for tourists and especially tourists with kids. Also Kauai has more miles of beaches than any other Hawaiian island.

I'm sure it was quite comical watching us slip on our flippers with the waves coming in.

I just put up my mask and started floating. Within seconds I was swimming with the fishes. The outer edges are lined with huge lava boulders and filled with so many varieties of fish.

Can you see the devil scorpion fish in the next two pics?

Can't wait to do this again. Tuesday is SCUBA diving. Should be even more amazing.
